Hillsboro recognizes students of the month

Hillsboro students of the month for the month of October were Marah Franz, Kalie Siebert, and Tanner Sechrist.

Franz participates in volleyball, the fall musical “Cinderella,” and is an active member at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church.

In her free time, she enjoys playing board games with her family and Frisbee golf.

She is the daughter of Scott and Pam Franz.

Siebert is the daughter of Bruce and Tereasa Siebert. She is a member of youth group, FFA, Ministry Quest, and the fall musical. She is the football and basketball manager, plays in the band, sings in the choir, and plays on the softball team.

Siebert enjoys thrift shopping, hanging out with friends and family, going on mission trips, fishing, paintballing, and art and photography.

She said she does not know what she wants to do after high school, but knows she wants work in the medical field.

Sechrist is a member of Spirit-N-Celebration, National Honor Society, Newton Nitros swim team, and the Mennonite Brethren Church youth group.

In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, and reading Clive Cussler novels.

Sechrist is undecided about what to do or where to go to college, but he hopes to be on a college swim team.
