Hillsboro school board extends contracts
Hillsboro school board had contract fever Monday, extending the contracts of six administrators.
Elementary principal Evan Yoder, middle/high school principal Clint Corby, and middle/high school assistant principal and activities director Robert Rempel all received extensions through June 2021.
TEEN director Lena Kleiner also received a two-year extension, while technology director Brad Just and business manager Jerry Hinerman were both extended through June 2020.
Kalee Cross was hired as the varsity softball coach, with Stephanie Sinclair as her assistant.
Board members approved the formal termination of custodian Rebecca Ryding, effective Jan. 2. Brenda Estes was hired as the new custodian.
Changes were approved for staff benefit eligibility, allowing employees to submit resignations in the spring, but it won’t take effect until August.
Old wording stated employee benefits extended through the month in which the employee worked. The new standard will extend benefits through the end of the month in which the employee’s termination or resignation is effective.
