Hillsboro softball sweeps Kingman

The Hillsboro softball team swept Kingman. The Trojans won the first game, 13-2, and the second game, 8-0.

The Trojans were led by the top of the order in the first game. Tena Loewen, Allison Weber, and Danae Bina combined to go 8-for-11 with seven runs and two RBIs.

In game two, the Trojans used a masterful pitching outing from Julie Sinclair. Sinclair pitched a complete game shutout, allowing two hits, striking out eight batters, and walking no one. Sinclair struck out the side in the third inning.

The Trojans four through six hitters did the heavy lifting in game two. Bradli Nowak, Madison Klein, and Sinclair each went 2-for-4. Collectively they scored three runs and had three RBIs.

Bina did have a home run her last at bat in game two, accounting for her only hit, RBI, and run produced. Bina now has four home runs this season.

Tena Loewen — 3-3, 3 runs, 3 singles, walk. 3 1/3 innings pitched, 2 strikeouts, 1 earned run, 1 hit, 3 walks.

Nowak — 1-3, 1B, R, RBI.

Klein — 1-3, 1B, R.

Sinclair — 0-3, sacrifice RBI.

Emily Jost — 1-2, 1B, RBI.

Erin Loewen — 0-3.

Kennedy Lucero — 0-2, 2 R.

Game 2

Tena Loewen — 1-4, 1B, R.

Weber — 1-4, 1B, RBI.

Bina — 1-4, HR, RBI, R.

Nowak — 2-4, 2 2B, 2 R.

Klein — 2-4, 3B, 1B, RBI, R.

Team sweeps Sterling

The Trojans defeated Sterling in two games, 3-0 and 9-4, on Tuesday.

Weber pitched the first game, improving her record to 3-1. Nowak hit a triple for the Trojans.

Bina hit two triples in game two, and Sinclair pitched four innings to improve her record to 4-0, while Weber closed the game.
