Hillsboro swept by Hoisington
Staff Writer
The Hillsboro High School softball team had a tough time garnering any momentum in Friday’s double header with Hoisington.
The Trojans were outscored 27-4 in a pair of lopsided defeats.
In game one, Hillsboro found itself down 8-0 before the Trojans got on the board in the bottom of the fourth.
Hoisington got that run back the next inning and followed it up with five runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
After suffering a 14-1 defeat in game one, the Trojans came out of the gates slow in game two and fell behind 7-0 through two innings.
Hillsboro put up three runs in the bottom of the third, but Hoisington responded with two runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth to pull out a 13-3 win.
The Trojans are back in action on April 30 when they host Haven.
