Hillsboro to be ‘down home’
Hillsboro’s annual Down Home Christmas Dec. 5 will be an all-day event with activities running from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Hillsboro Hardware will have grab-and-go bags with children’s crafts for the first 100 people to stop by the store between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Music and a horse-drawn sleigh will be on display from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in front of the city’s chamber of commerce.
Santa will make an appearance from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Et Cetera Shop for pictures, and goodie bags will be given to the first 200 children who visit. Free prints of Santa pictures will be available 1 to 4 p.m. at NexTech Wireless.
A Christmas Cruise will be 3 to 5 p.m. in downtown Hillsboro. Prizes will be awarded to the top three vehicles, with entries open 3:30 p.m. in the 100 block of N. Main St. Voting will start Dec. 7.
