Hillsboro to celebrate Down Home Christmas

Businesses feature open houses, children’s activities

Hillsboro will celebrate its annual Down Home Christmas Saturday with daylong downtown events and lighting of the Christmas tree at 5:30 p.m.

Bags of candy from Eagle Communications will be available at the library while supplies last.

Home-based businesses will be featured at Kesslers and Prudent Tours.

Kathy’s Floral Design, Rhubarb Market, Diamond in the Rough, The Cut Above, Mama C’s Take and Bake, and TC Wireless will have open houses.

Main Street Ministries will hold a festival of trees from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All trees and wreaths will be for sale, with proceeds to support Main Street Ministries.

Kids crafts will be at Hillsboro Hardware, Kesslers, and the Chamber of Commerce office.

Story time at the library will be at 10 a.m..

Santa will be at the Et Cetera Shop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..

The Cut Above will have face painting from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
