Hillsboro volleyball drops two at Emporia
Hillsboro volleyball had a tough pill to swallow last week, going winless Thursday in two matches at Emporia.
The Trojans’ best result came in the first set against Emporia. Hillsboro won the set 25-23, but the other sets were less fortuitous, as the team lost both, 25-15, 25-17.
The Trojans’ cleanest part of the game was their defense, with 42 digs and no errors for the match.
Other aspects of Hillsboro’s were rough, though.
Kills was one area that was a mixed bag. They registered 25 kills on 94 attempts, but also had 16 hitting errors.
The Trojans took 33 total errors for the match, with nine coming on receives, and eight on errant serves.
Against Great Bend, Hillsboro had further poor results, losing in two sets, 25-24, 25-17.
The Trojans wrap up regular season play with a home tournament on Saturday and a match Oct. 22 at Sterling.
