Hillsboro volleyball made a strong showing with a third place finish Saturday at Douglass.

The Trojans swept their first two matches in two sets each. Hillsboro defeated Winfield 25-19, 25-17, and then followed the performance by defeating Mulvane 25-15, 25-14.

Advancing past pool play, the Trojans faced defeat at the hands of Garden Plain, losing in two close sets 29-27, 25-22.

Hillsboro stole a set against El Dorado, but lost the match 25-15, 24-26, 25-15.

In the third-place match, Hillsboro again found success. The Trojans soundly defeated Augusta in the first set 25-10, and then took the second set 25-16.
