Area runners recently placed at the Thresher 5K Run, Jog or Walk, sponsored by Bethel College as part of its fall festival.

Donna Spoonemore of Hillsboro, was the fastest female runner in her age group of 45-49 with a time of 23:32 and was the second female to cross the finish line.

Todd Lehman of Hesston had the fastest time, finishing in 18:33. Pam Rizza of Wichita was the first-place female finisher with a time of 23:24.

Others who placed were Anna Wiens of Goessel, second, female 12 and under, 45:41; and Cindy Wiens, Goessel, third, female 40-44, 38:19.

Others who participated were Ben Wiens and Zach Wiens, both of Goessel and both in the 12 and under age group.
