Hillsboro wrestler makes state quarterfinal
Hillsboro wrestler Tristan Rathbone delivered during last week’s trip to Kansas State Wrestling Championships, going 2-2 and reaching the quarterfinals of the 152-pound division.
Rathbone was joined at state by teammates Garrett Helmer and Jordan Bachman.
Helmer went 1-2 as a 132-pounder, winning his second match, while Bachman won his first match to go 1-2 in the 145-pound division.
Marion also sent three wrestlers to the tournament. Todd Palic fared the best for the Warriors, placing fifth in the 182-pound division.
Slater went 1-2 in the 113-pound division, while Shults lost both his matches in the 120-pound division.
Canton-Galva students Ryder Norstrom and Andre Patton competed as members of the Hillsboro team, with Norstrom in the 138-pound division and Patton as a 160-pounder.
