Hinerman takes 11th at 2A state race

Hillsboro cross-country runner Jonathan Hinerman placed 11th out of 99 runners Saturday in the 2A state meet at Wamego Country Club.

Hinerman ran the 5K course in 18 minutes, 14 seconds.

“Jon ran a strong first mile, which he has all year,” coach Robert Haude said. “This allowed him to maintain good positioning for the remainder of the race.”

Haude said Hinerman did a tremendous job preparing for the state meet.

“Jon has become a stronger runner mentally throughout the season, which factored into his ability to commit at the highest level at the state meet,” Haude said.
