Horticulture students pass it on

Ann Leppke’s horticulture students at Peabody High School recently participated in a national campaign to “spread joy and happiness” through the giving of floral bouquets.

“Petal it Forward” happened Oct. 24, when students handed out two bouquets to random people, asking them to keep one and give the second bouquet to someone they thought could use it.

Students shared bouquets in Peabody, Burns, and Marion.

“It was a great day,” Leppke said. “There were a lot of smiles and even a few tears. One gentleman told us that he was going to take his second bouquet to the cemetery and place it on his wife’s grave.

“My students loved doing this and have already asked about doing it again next year,” Leppke said.
