Howard Roy O’Neal, 86, died Dec. 4, 2012, at his home in Newton. He was born on April 17, 1926, to Frank and Genevera O’Neal in Pamona, Kan.

He served in the United States Army and went on to receive a master’s degree in education. He retired after 33 years as a school teacher at Peabody.

He is survived by two sons: Randy of Peabody and Roger O’Neal of Newton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was Friday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Private family services were scheduled for a later date.
