Improvement noted between events

Hillsboro placed seventh out of nine schools overall as Salina Sacred Heart won its own golf invitational Thursday.

Bryant Dalke shot a 98 to secure 29th place for Hillsboro. Josh Siebert and Annaliese Jorgenson both shot 103. Lincoln Wichert finished at 106, and Owen Dalke finished with 122.

“The Sacred Heart Invitational is one of the more highly competitive tournaments on our schedule, resulting in our lower team finish,” coach Scott O’Hare said. “However, our team score and individual scores were still fairly similar to previous performances, even on a longer course and under difficult conditions with high winds,”

On Monday, Hillsboro improved by finishing fifth out of eight in the Sterling Invitational.

Wichert tied for 12th with a score of 91, and Bryant Dalke took 18th with a score of 96. Jorgenson tied for 23rd with a score of 98, and Owen Dalke tied for 34th with a score of 110.

Marion

Marion traveled Monday to Council Grove and came away with seventh place out of eight teams.

Matt Basore tied for 31st with a score of 118. Gavin Regier tied for 37th with a score of 124 ,and Anthony Potocnik was right behind him, tied for 40th, with a score of 125.
