Harold Nunn

Harold “Punky” D. Nunn, 89, passed away Sunday at Pratt Rehabilitation and Residence Center.

He was born Sept. 18, 1930, in Herington, to Harold and “Mickey” (Haberman) Nunn.

After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served as a signalman. Harold met the love of his life, Wilma Backhus, and they were united in marriage on May 6, 1951.

Harold was a former employee of the Rock Island Railroad, and retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad.

He is survived by children Debbie Giocabetti, Kelly Nunn, and Scott (Mary) Nunn, all of Pratt; sister Francie (John) Hattabaugh of Branson, Missouri; stepsister Judy (Thom) McGuire of Kansas City; stepbrother Jim (Karen) Perry of Kansas City; grandchildren Jason Giocabetti, Jami Walker, Michelle (Tom) Westerhaus, Michael and Scotty Nunn; great-grandchildren Lexi and Robert (Bubba) Walker, Maddox Westerhaus, Zane, Addysyn, Skylar, Felicity and Danielle Nunn.

Harold is preceded in death by wife Wilma; parents; brother Bob Nunn; stepbrother Bill Perry; grandson Seth Nunn; and son in-law Anthony (Jake) Giocabetti.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends 5 to 7 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd. in Pratt. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Larrison Mortuary, with pastor Dan Chrismer presiding. Burial with Navy honors will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.
