Irvin McPheeters

Irvin Leroy McPheeters, 94, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Peabody Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Irwin was born on May 2, 1924, to William John McPheeters Sr. and Ella Augusta (Eberhard) McPheeters in rural Peabody.

Irwin married Pauline May Truax at Pauline’s parents’ home in rural Peabody on Jan. 20, 1946.

Irwin was a farmer and semi-truck and school bus driver. He was a lifelong member of Peabody Baptist Church and a Red Cross blood donor and loved his community and everything “John Deere.” Most notably, Irwin always referred to his wife as his bride and loved her dearly for 72 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline and sons Philip (and wife Katie) of Newton and Neil (and wife Diana) of Jacksonville, Florida. Additional family members include his grandchildren, sister-in-law Vada Ann McPheeters, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William “Bill” McPheeters, and half-brothers Melvin and Kenneth Patchett.
