Keith McDowell

Keith McDowell was born Dec. 25, 1943, in El Dorado, the son of Arnold and Irma (Britting) McDowell. He grew up at Haverhill and graduated Augusta High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University.

He married Carol Hansen Jan. 1, 1967, at Haverhill Christian Church. He served in Kansas National Guard.

He worked in retail until his retirement in 2016.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey McDowell and wife, Tammy, of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Brian McDowell and wife, Alisa, of Peabody; four grandchildren, Alex Holm-McDowell, Rylie McDowell, Joshua Scott McDowell, and Jackson Ray McDowell; and two sisters, Mary Ann Hawley and Ava Kay McHone and husband, Steve, both of Augusta.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Leona Dill McDowell.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hopestone Cancer Support Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
