Leland Albrecht

Services with military honors for Leland A.M. Albrecht, 91, who passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at his home in Marion, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, at St. John Evangelic Lutheran Church in Lincolnville.

Burial will follow at Lincolnville Cemetery. Leland’s family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 3, 2022, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion.

Leland’s life began Nov. 5, 1930, in Lincolnville, a son of Rudolph H. and Ottilie A. (Krause) Albrecht.

Leland was a graduate of Lincolnville High School.

He was united in marriage April 17, 1960, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Bazine to Lola L. Blocker.

Leland served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956, when he returned home to the family farm.

He was a farmer and stockman and was dedicated to his farm and family. He served on the co-op board for several years and was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lincolnville, where he volunteered for many years.

Leland’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children, Janelle Rogers (and husband Mike) of Salina, Royden Albrecht (and wife Ginny) of Lincolnville, Janise Lemuz (and husband Kris) of Wichita, and Rodney Albrecht of Burdett; grandchildren Kendra Walther (and husband Damon), Erik Rogers (and wife Anh-minh), Dylan Lemuz, Deena Stanley (and husband Bobby), and Vivian Stephens (and husband Tim); 10 great-grandchildren; brother Gail Albrecht of Lindsborg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings Sylvester, Erano, and Merle Albrecht, Ruth C. Gregg, and Lola Brockmeier.

Memorial contributions in Leland’s name may be directed to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Marion Senior Center.
