Mark D. Bishop
Mark D. Bishop, 61, of Florence died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 in his home surrounded by family.
He was born Sept. 9, 1957 to Carol (Tambke, Bishop) Schmidt and DeWayne Bishop in Deshler, Nebraska.
Mark served in the Army from 1974 to 1977. He served in Korea. Mark was a police officer in Junction City for four years in the early 1980s, was a scaffold builder for several years, and was an employee for the City of Florence for several years.
Survivors include Charla Ramsey and Tanner of the home; children Nathan Bishop of Goodland, Ethan Bishop and Wynn (Bishop) Maloney of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Melissa Ramsey of Florence, and Chris Ramsey and his wife, Donna, of North Bend, Washington; grandchildren McKayla Oursler of Florence, Finn Maloney, and Poppy Bishop of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ethan and Alex Ramsey of North Bend, Washington, Isaac Ramsey of El Dorado; siblings Gayle Bishop and wife, Liz, of Wichita, Steve Bishop of Newton, Vonnie Gfeller and husband, Arlen, of Peabody; and several nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his son Ben Bishop, stepdaughter Melissa Ammeter, and parents Dewayne Bishop and Carol Schmidt.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.
