Nadine Koegeboehn

A funeral service for Nadine Koegeboehn, 91, of Sedgwick, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at Azria Assisted Living in Wichita, was 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion.

Visitation with family was 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the church.

Nadine, surrounded by family throughout her final days and hours, was born March 29, 1932, to Merl and Leta (Brandt) Brewer.

She graduated from Peabody High School in the Class of 1950 and worked as a telephone switchboard operator.

She married Raymond Koegeboehn on Nov. 28, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Township.

After they were married, Nadine joined Ray at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

In 1957, they returned to farming along Middle Creek near Elmdale, where they raised three children in love and knowing Christ.

They retired from farming in 2000 and moved to Marion for 15 years before moving to Sedgwick.

Nadine was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Nadine and Ray enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and family. They loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Nadine also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and being host for gatherings for friends and family members. These gatherings often included playing Pinochle, Pitch, Pins and Jokers, or other games.

Nadine was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Bob, Melvin, Keith, and Jim; and her sister, Opal Walker.

She is survived by daughters Debbie Heggemeier (and husband Lyle) of Des Moines and Kathy Cline of Wichita, by son Gary (and wife Lucy) of San Antonio, and by two granddaughters, three grandsons, and two great-grandchildren in addition to many extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church. Condolences to share with the family may be left at yazelmeglifh.com.
