EXPANDED EULOGIES

Norma Riggs

Services for Norma Riggs, who passed away Oct. 13, 2021, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion, were noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Marion Christian Church and led by pastor Carl Helm. Interment was afterwards in Burns Cemetery.

Norma’s life began on March 1, 1926, on the family farm in rural Florence. She was the daughter of George and Ida (Roberts) Clark. Norma attended rural Summit grade school and graduated from Burns High School.

She was united in marriage to Leroy Riggs in 1946 after he returned from serving in the United States Navy. Their last home was in Marion.

Norma was very talented and learned to play the piano by ear at an early age. In later years, she taught herself how to read music and played for many weddings, funerals, and other occasions. Norma was the church organist for the Marion Christian Church for many years. She was also the librarian at the Marion Public Library for 25 years.

Leroy and Norma both enjoyed their family, traveling, and working in their lovely garden and yard.

She is survived by brother Gordon Clark of El Dorado, sisters Margaret Matz of Peabody and Sherol Nightingale of Burns, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Leroy; four brothers, infants Oswald and Willard Clark, Bill Clark, and Ivan Clark; and sisters Maude Gaines and Joyce Barker.

Memorial contributions in Norma’s name may be directed to Marion Christian Church. Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
