Richard Kellison

Cremation and memorial services with military honors for Richard Lee Kellinson, 90, of Emporia, who died Dec. 29 at his home, were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.

Military honors were provided by Ball-McColm Post No. 5 American Legion and Lowry-Funston Post No. 1980 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Private inurnment will be at a later date at Blakely Cemetery, Madison.

Born Dec. 10, 1930, in Madison, the son of Marshall Intime and Mary Alice Spitznogle Kellison, he married Joyce Lee Unruh on April 29, 1951, at First Christian Church in Madison. She died Feb. 29 in Emporia.

Richard worked in the oilfield supply service since 1955 for Mountain Iron and Supply Company, Misco, Buckeye Supply, and with Gosco Inc., all in Madison.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 as a carpenter.

He belonged to First Christian Church, Emporia and was a 50-year member of the Madison Masonic Lodge No. 196 A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include sons Michael Kellison of Guymon, Oklahoma, and Doug Kellison (and wife Julie) of Emporia; daughter Kathy Edwards, (and husband Rick) of Emporia; grandchildren, Larisha Kellison, Ryan Kellison, Matthew Kellison, Jeremy Kellison, Derek Kellison, and Victoria Edwards; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Lee Kellison; his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
