Richard Loewen

Richard Charles Loewen was born June 26, 1948, to Elmer and Gladys (Regier) Loewen. He passed away Dec 13 at his home at, age 72.

Richard grew up on the family farm and graduated from Peabody High School in 1966. He attended K-State.

He moved to Montana to work on a ranch for several years. He enjoyed horses and being outside. He moved back to Peabody to farm with his dad and later drove a Suburban for Peabody-Burns school district for several years, until his health didn’t allow him to continue.

Richard married Martha Joleen Wilson in 1976. He later married Chris Wiese in 1986. A son, Dakota Nashua Wiese Loewen, was born to the family on May 9, 1992.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Cody, from Madison, Wisconsin; his sisters, Judy (and husband LeRoy) Dick from Hampton, Nebraska, Janet (and husband David) Oursler of Peabody, and Jolene (and husband Mitch) Cunninham of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A private family celebration will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to Peabody-Burns school district.
