Russ Ediger

Russell Evan Ediger, 53, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Russ attended schools in Peabody, Kansas. He graduated from Newton High School in 1983 and with honors from the University of Kansas in graphic arts. A talented writer and artist, Russ retired early from Hallmark Cards after contributing to the creation of several books and so many greeting cards.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, H. Milford and Donna D. Ediger.

He is survived by his husband of 25 years, Jorge Menendez; stepson, George Menendez; sisters, Rebecca Ediger and Melinda Lang and her husband Steven; nephew, Craig Lang and his wife Heather; niece Abby Reed and her husband Mark; a grandniece and three grandnephews.

Cremation has taken place and, at his request, there will be no visitation or services.

Russ loved all animals and a memorial has been established in his name with Caring Hands Humane Society, 1400 SE 3rd St., Newton, KS 67114.
