Tammy S. Slifer

Tammy S. Slifer, 61, passed away April 18 at home in El Dorado.

Her life began on January 2, 1958, in El Dorado. She is the daughter of Harry R. and Emily L. (Starks) Slifer.

Tammy enjoyed cooking with her mother, crafts, her dogs and cats, children, attending church and singing hymns, traveling with family, fishing and hunting. She also enjoyed being with her family and her Flinthills Services friends.

Her loving family includes her sisters Bonnie (Gary) Burkhart of Ulysses and Mary Graves of El Dorado; nieces and nephews Darren (Lisa) Burkhart, Dustin Burkhart, Cory (Kourtney) Burkhart, Dan E. (Rebecca) Graves II, and Kensera Graves; great-nieces and nephews Noah and Evan Burkhart, Sadie, Sophia and Sarah Burkhart, Medaris, Kerigan and Lainie Burkhart, Danny Graves III, Amanda Fielder, Scott Winter and Kenneth Graves; great-great-nieces and nephews Karter, Kendall, Kymbre, Chandler, Braxton, Braylen, and Bryson; one aunt Anna Marie Green, and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Her family will gather with friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Chaplain Tal Titsworth will lead the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Tammy will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery in Marion following the service. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to The Nature Conservancy or to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
