Thomas Druse

Graveside services for former Marion resident Thomas Lee Druse, 87, of Enid, Oklahoma, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, in Enid, will be 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 30, 2023, at Marion Cemetery.

Thomas was born May 6, 1936, in Marion, the third son of Charles and Palma Young Druse.

He graduated from high school in Marion, worked in the oil field, and eventually joined the Army, serving in Vietnam.

He married Claudette Kay Hodges from Florence, Kansas and they lived the Army life, adding three children along the way.

Thomas retired in 1977 and moved the family to Enid. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier until retiring in 1999.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Later, when his body prohibited him from these activities, he enjoyed going to casinos.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jim, Bob and Don; his wife; Claudette; son Tom; and daughter Christy May Druse.

He is survived by a brother, Ron, and his wife, Judy; sister-in-law Karen; son Richard; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
