Wanda Daniel

Wanda Davis Brinkley Daniel, 66, died Jan. 23 at her home in Marion.

She was born Dec. 23, 1952, in Gadsville, Arkansas, to Adella Pittaway and Joseph Davis. She married Mel Brinkley Nov. 7, 1975, in Young, Texas.

She was a licensed professional counselor in Oklahoma. She retired early after an infection left her blind. Later she lived with a roommate, Phyllis Zorn, and come to love her roommate’s family as if they were her own.

Wanda’s strong faith and determination were an inspiration to people who came to know her.

Survivors include three sons Von Brinkley and wife, Linda, of Yukon, Oklahoma; Brent Brinkley and wife, DaLynn, of Arapaho, Oklahoma; and Benjamin Zorn and wife, Ashley, of Wichita; and daughter Miranda Twist and husband, Kirk, of Salina. She is survived by six granddaughters, Ashley, Emily, Kylee, Preslee, and Kynlee Brinkley, and Emma Twist; and two grandsons, Cooper and Decklan Zorn.

She is also survived by her roommate, Phyllis Zorn.

Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Davis.

Wanda was cremated. Services will be at a later date at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion.
