Wencel Holub
Wencel “Jim” J. Holub, 92, passed away Monday, March 12, in Wichita.
He was born July 4, 1925, at Pilsen, the son of Charles and Mary (Stika) Holub. He was raised and educated in the Pilsen community.
He was married to Loretta Hill on Oct. 21, 1952. The couple had four children, James, Kenneth, Wayne, and Diana.
Jim farmed in addition to doing oil field work, operated a service station in Marion, and he worked for Hesston Corporation for 22 years as a welder and machinist.
His parents, four brothers, one sister, and a grandchild preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Loretta of the home; three sons, James and wife, Mary, of Montgomery, Texas; Kenneth and wife, Clara, of Marion; and Wayne of Abilene, Kansas; a daughter, Diana Holub of Newton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, at Pilsen. There will be a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. before Mass. Interment will follow at Pilsen Cemetery.
There will be a viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.
