William Siebert
William James Siebert, 75, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away on Oct. 23, 2018, in Pueblo, Colorado, after a year-and-a-half long illness of myasthenia gravis.
He was born on July 11, 1943, in Hillsboro to Ernest and Irmgard Siebert. He was an only child.
Bill graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in geology in 1967. During the span of his career he worked for several companies in uranium exploration and oil and gas. Work took him to Grants, New Mexico; Oklahoma City; Casper, Wyoming; and Denver. He was a member of numerous geologic organizations.
Bill’s hobby and passion was geology, especially uranium. He liked going to Kansas State football games in Manhattan. He also enjoyed giving tours at Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison, Colorado. He loved learning facts about the world and the universe.
He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and Ascension Lutheran Church in his later years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marie; three sons, Brian (and his wife, Lindsay) of Chicago; Mark of Denver; and Jeff (and his wife, Vanessa) of Littleton, Colorado; and seven grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held in July in Colorado.
