Irene Eitel

Services for Irene Eitel, 97, who died Saturday at Advent Care Center in Merriam, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee.

Visitation will be from noon until services at the funeral home Friday. Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Durham Park Cemetery, rural Durham.

Born April 10, 1922, to Henry and Minnie (Deckert) Jantzen at Kismet, she married Jonas Eitel Sept. 3, 1938, in Abilene.

 Survivors include sons Gary Eitel of Hepler, Vernon Eitel of Shawnee, and Milton Eitel of Assaria; daughters, Sandra Kraig-Kraft of Fargo, North Dakota, Betty Minkler of Anthony, Florida; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  

Her husband, Jonas Eitel; brothers, Elmer, Dan and Roy Jantzen; sisters, Thelma Roberts, Edith McCarthy, Bertha Clark; and a grandchild, Gordon Biesterfeld preceded her in death.
