Isaac Leppke

Isaac Floyd “Ike” Leppke, 86, of Pueblo, Colorado, died in his sleep Feb. 1 in Penrose, Colorado. He was born June 8, 1927, to Martha and David Leppke on the family farm near Hillsboro.

He attended the Ebenfeld grade school. He married Lorraine Pientka on Sept. 2, 1945. They had three children, Floyd, Glenn, and Cindy. They later divorced.

He moved his family to Colorado after he got a job in 1954. He worked as a welder and in the assay lab of Climax Molybdenum for 34 years. He also did concrete work with his nephew in Kansas after retirement.

He attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Pueblo with Jan Baughman. She preceded him in death in 2010. He kept busy with the church’s estate sales and bowling.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Archie Leppke; and a granddaughter, Debra.

He is survived by his children, Floyd, Glenn, and Cindy; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

A memorial service was Feb. 7 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Pueblo. At his request, he was cremated. Inurnment will be at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, on Saturday. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.
