Ivan Wayne Nickel, 79, of Hillsboro, died Oct. 15, 2008, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.

Born Oct. 10, 1929, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Henry E. and Kathryn (Willems) Nickel.

He was employed at Hillsboro Industries of Hillsboro and a member of Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth Schook of Corpus Christi, Texas, a niece, and two nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday morning at Trinity Mennonite Church with pastors Tim Kliewer and Jeff Wintermote presiding. Burial was at Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
