Jay D. Bowman, 69, of Smith Center, died March 7 at his home.

Born June 20, 1941, in Smith County, to Vernon and Eldora (Freburg) Bowman, he was a retired telephone technician.

Survivors include his wife, Connie, of Smith Center; two sons, Steven of Whitewater and Kurtis of Hillsboro; a sister, Vae Jene Herron of Lawrence; and a granddaughter.

Services were Saturday at the Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary in Smith Center. The Rev. Dennis Lambert officiated.

Burial followed in Cora Cedar Hill Cemetery.
