Jesse Branson

Jesse Alan Branson was born Sept. 28, 1981, to Rick and Khrista Branson in Emporia, Kansas. The family moved to Marion, Kansas, where Jesse and his brother, Jack, attended Marion-Florence school system. He attended Eastmoor United Methodist Church with his family and was baptized in April 1995. Jesse graduated high school in May 2000, then attended Universal Technical Institute in Houston, Texas, where he graduated with a degree in auto mechanics in May 2002.

He was blessed with a son, Gage Branson, who was born in September 2002 to Jennifer Wyss in Hillsboro, Kansas.

Jesse worked at many jobs over the years in the Marion/Hillsboro area. Besides working as a mechanic at Wright Motors of Hillsboro, Jesse worked quite a few years as a welder at Donahue Trailer factory in Durham, Circle D trailer factory in Hillsboro, and Marion Manufacturing in Marion. His latest employment was with Jantz Construction of Hillsboro, where he eventually worked his way up to foreman, working with all types of cement, metal buildings, and general contracting.

Jesse moved to Ashland, Kansas, in April 2016 because of health issues, and passed away in the home of his parents Aug. 27, 2017.

Jesse is survived by his parents, Rick and Khrista Branson of Ashland; son Gage Branson of Ashland; brother Jack Branson and wife, Hannah, of Marion and their daughters Alexis, Izabell, Lanie, and Avery; and a huge extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Marion County Lake Hall, 1 Office Drive, Marion, Kansas. Pastor Jeff Lee of Aulne United Methodist Church will offciate. Jesse has requested casual attire. No neckties, high heels, or suit coats, please. He has also requested a campfire following the service, so bring lawn chairs, marshmallow sticks, etc.

The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Prairie, PO Box 1298, Dodge City KS 67801, or Ashland Health Center, 709 Oak St., Ashland KS 67831. No flowers please.
