Jim Brennan

Visitation will be Thursday for Lawrence James (Jim) Brennan Jr., 88, of Hillsboro, who passed away Monday. Funeral services will be private.

Born June 14, 1932, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Lawrence and Marie Brennan, he married Rita Seidel on Sept. 4, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio.

He served two years as a naval officer on the U.S.S. Bayfield.

Jim moved to Hillsboro in 1967 to work at Tip Top dairy, which later became part of Associated Milk Producers, Inc.

He was a member of the Hillsboro Kiwanis club and served on the Hillsboro city council, Salem Hospital board, and Hillsboro Community Foundation board.

He is survived by wife Rita; sons Mike of Pittsburg, Terry of Wichita, and Tim, of Houston, Texas; step-grandchildren Brent and Travis Raif; and sister Mary Ann Truax.

His parents and brother Richard preceded him in death.

Memorials have been established with Hillsboro Senior Center and Holy Family Parish.
