John Balthrop

Services for John C. Balthrop 84, who died Saturday at Newton Medical Center, will be at a later date.

Born July 27, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Carmack and Cecilia Balthrop, he was a retired farmer and insurance agent.

He married Lois Jackson on Jan. 5, 1968, in Newton. She survives, along with sons Ted and Jeff; daughter Lynn Egner; brother Virgil Balthrop; and four grandchildren.

Sister Virginia Mink preceded him in death.

A memorial has been established with Peabody Community Foundation’s park project.
