John Solomon

John D. Solomon, 55, Halstead, died June 24 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City.

Born Sept. 21, 1954, in Newton, to John and Bettie (Dunn) Solomon, he was a 1972 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School in El Dorado Springs, Mo.

He married Tammy Cramer on Sept. 3, 1994, in Newton. She survives of Halstead.

He was a parts service manager in Wichita.

His father, brother Willard, and stepfather Arthur Davis preceded him in death.

Other survivors include his mother, Bettie Davis of Newton; four sons, Bobby Rose of Walton, Billy Rose of Newton, Joseph McMurray of Caney, and Jonathan McMurray of Chicago; two daughters, Crystal Loving of Locust Grove, Okla., and Sarah of Halstead; two brothers, Joseph and Steve of Newton; a sister, Peggy Wheaton of Antioch, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren.

Services were Monday at First Missionary Church of Newton with the Rev. Ray Adams officiating.

Burial was at Flat Rock Cemetery, Schell City, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the John Solomon Memorial Fund in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N Main, Newton KS 67114.
