Josephine Smith
Josephine Glennis Austin Smith, 89, Hillsboro, died Aug. 5, 2008.
The daughter of Miles and Myrtle (McMurray) Austin, she was born Dec. 31, 1918, at Burrton.
She was an elementary school teacher and member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
On Nov. 3, 1936, she married Harold Ancel Smith at Kingman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, David Lee Smith; three brothers, Neal Austin, Burt Austin, and James Austin; and a sister, Harriet Tabor.
Survivors include a son, John Smith of Tracy, Calif.; daughter, Judy Troyer of rural Hillsboro; two brothers, Roger Austin of Rosalia and Miles Austin Jr. of Alamosa, Colo.; sister, Betty Jo Worthington of Eagle River, Alaska; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Grant officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Mesa, Ariz.
A memorial fund was established with the church.
