Junior W. Unruh

Junior W. “Jr.” Unruh, 76, died May 15, 2009, at Hospice House in Hutchinson.

Born June 3, 1932, in Durham, he was the son of Wesley H. and Ellen (Pankratz) Unruh.

He graduated from Durham High School and Brown Mackie Business College in Salina.

He was a grocery store manager and produce merchandiser for 40 years.

On June 6, 1954, he married Shirley A. Petty in Salina. She survives.

His parents and a brother, Arvid Unruh, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Rod Unruh of Sioux City, Iowa; a daughter, Kristi DeVault of Hutchinson; a brother, Ronald Unruh of Durham; and four grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday morning at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Dr. Kim Biery presiding.

Burial was at Luray Cemetery, Luray.

Memorial funds have been established with Hospice of Reno County or the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
