KAKE TV anchor reads to Goessel students

Library receives $500 donation

KAKE Channel 10 anchor and reporter Susan Peters visited Goessel Elementary School students Nov. 3 and read them the story, “Henry and the Buccaneer Bunnies.”

Peters donned pirate garb while reading the book about the only pirate bunny with interest and ability to read, who saves his friends with knowledge he gained by reading.

After the reading, Peters and John Sprague of EMC Insurance presented a $500 donation to the elementary school library. The money will be spent on books.

GES was chosen for the reading and donation because a district resident nominated librarian Russell Pauls to be honored. Pauls has worked for USD 411 for 11 years and also tutors GES students.

KAKE Channel 10 will air footage of the reading periodically throughout November.
