Web designer and payroll processor Kevin Emerson McCarty, 50, died Sept. 8 in his hometown of Nashville following a long battle with cancer.

He was born Sept. 8, 1964, to Owen and Jessie (Jewett) McCarty in Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather, Willis Elliot, and a brother, Owen Eric McCarty.

He is survived by: his life partner, Michael Ondek, of Nashville; his mother, Jessie Elliot, of Madison, Tennessee; a brother, Shawn, of San Jose, California; three sisters, Verginia Copen, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Charlotte Parker, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Cheryl Ewing, of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; three step-sisters, Roxanne Giumetti, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Jackie Haga, of Decatur, Alabama, and Charlotte Rene Matthews, of White House, Tennessee; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

Services were held Sept. 13 at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, Nashville. Memorial donations may be made to a dog/animal rescue group or cancer research organization of the donor’s choice.
