Larry Olsen

Services for lifelong Marion resident Larry Earl “Farmer” Olsen, 77, who died May 30, were Monday at Aulne. Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

Born Jan. 3, 1940, to Earl F. and Tena “Lucille” (Rempel) Olsen, he was the third generation to live on the family farm west of Marion. He also worked as a builder and raised miniature horses.

A Marion High School graduate, he served in the Air Force and on July 11, 1987, married Deana (Ballew) Olsen at Aulne.

She survives along with sister Helen Reznicek of Marion, stepchildren Steven Challacombe of Manhattan and Lorri Jost of Wichita, and five step-grandchildren.

A sister, Rowena Olsen, preceded him in death.

Zeiner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established with Aulne United Methodist Church and Heartland Chapter of the Parkinson Foundation.
