Lawrence A. Weber

Lawrence A. Weber, 76, of Herington, died Saturday at his residence.

He was born March 27, 1936, at Hope to Arthur “Jack” and Viola (Gruber) Weber.

He graduated from Hope High School in 1954. He served in the Army. He was a retired railroad brakeman and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Herington (Lyons Creek).

He is survived by four daughters, Diane Essary of Salina, Rami Weber of Raytown, Mo., Laurie Smith of Manhattan, and Audra Robb of Assaria; one son, Brandon Weber of Hudson, Ohio; three sisters, Naverta Elliott of Hope, Joan Kerr of Overland Park, and Linda May of Harris, Mo.; one brother, Dennis Weber of Herington; one stepdaughter, Angie Blackwell of Wichita; one stepson, Brent Medley of Wichita; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Herington, with the Rev. John Riebhoff officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel.
