Lehigh Memorial Day show will continue
Public outcry has resulted in the traditional Memorial Day Antique Engine Show to continue at Lehigh.
The community struggled to find leadership and volunteers for the annual event, which has occurred for more than 30 years.
When news hit the streets that the engine show was not going to take place and Lehigh alumni and others wanted it to continue, a group of concerned citizens is making sure the event takes place.
Because of obvious time constraints, formal invitations and announcement will not be sent this year. All owners of engines, cars, trucks, and motorcycles are invited to bring them and show them off.
Vendors wanting to sell their wares are welcome; however, they must provide their own equipment and be responsible for setup and cleanup.
Entertainers, fire departments, riding clubs or individuals, tractor, boat, train, plane, auto dealers, quilters, hobbyists, and woodworkers also are welcome.
For more information, call (620) 483-3370 or (620) 382-5537.
Free will donations for next year’s event will be accepted but not expected, said organizers.
