A privilege

To the editor:

I live in Birmingham, Alabama. Well more than a million people live in this area, and we do not have a printed newspaper.

I grew up in Topeka and attended the University of Kansas with the help of the Oscar Stauffer Journalism Scholarship.

When I first moved here, we had both a morning paper and an evening paper.

These were important parts of my day, and I deeply miss that privilege.

I recently purchased a subscription to your wonderful paper after learning of the turmoil in your community.

So, now I receive a printed newspaper in my mailbox and couldn’t be happier.

My point is this: I hope everyone living in your area appreciates your continued service to the dissemination of important information via a newspaper that exists in a physical form.

It is indeed a privilege!
