Music is an integral, vibrant part of life. The lifelong process of learning, performing, creating, and appreciating music brings meaning and richness to our heritage and culture.
Marion High School students Caroline Collett (State Choir) and Alicia Maloney (State Band) along with Olivia Kliewer (State Choir), Daniele Melton, Riley Loewen, Caleb Bettles, and Graham Pankratz (State Middle Level Honor Choir), all from Hillsboro High School, were chosen by audition and performed at the Kansas Music Educators Convention in Wichita. Also performing was the Hillsboro High School Concert Choir.
Performing at this event may be comparable to winning at the highest level of athletics. In past years, the Marion High School Singers, Marion High School Choir, Hillsboro’s Spirit-n-Celebration, Hillsboro High School Men’s Ensemble, and Hillsboro High School Choir, as well as other students from both schools have performed at the KMEA convention.
We would like to congratulate all students for their tremendous performances at this event. These two communities have wonderful students who help brighten our communities with their contributions to the arts!
