To the editor:

Thank you, Ruth Herbel, for being willing to serve on the Marion City Council these last four years and working for the betterment of Marion.

Your diligence in serving the citizens of Marion is applauded and unfortunately has brought to light some very bad behaviors from certain people.

We cannot just move on without recognizing and correcting the issues and receiving the consequences.

I wish the newly elected councilmen and woman well in their years on the council. All have stated at a public forum that they will strive for more transparent, open meetings and take time to research issues before enacting them, all for the betterment of Marion.
