GOP seeks to divide

To the editor:

The Kansas Republican Party’s bus tour made a stop Friday in Hillsboro. I wish it would have kept driving.

Instead of telling their voters what Republicans would do for us and our state, it seems all they want to do is tear others down and further divide us.

That kind of talking won’t do us any good moving forward together as a state.

That’s why we need to re-elect Governor Laura Kelly this fall.

These last four years, she’s worked across the aisle time and again to deliver for our state.

She puts politics aside to work on behalf of Kansans. That’s the way it should be with our elected officials, but is unfortunately all too rare.

As a former teacher, I appreciate all that Governor Kelly has done for our schools and students. She is the first governor in more than a decade to ensure our schools are fully funded and has done so for four years in a row.

After he defended former Governor Sam Brownback’s cuts to public education, we cannot trust Derek Schmidt when it comes to our children’s education

This November, we must vote to re-elect Governor Laura Kelly.
