Libraries offer reading app
Staff writer
All county libraries now have access to a free service that provides access to hundreds of audiobooks, e-books and magazines through North Central Kansas Library Systems.
Readers interested in Sunflower eLibrary may contact their library to get a library card if they don’t already have one and set up a password.
Once they have an active password, they will be able to access the Sunflower eLibrary app on mobile devices. Patrons also will be able to send and read borrowed e-books to their Kindle e-reader.
Peabody Township Library began offering the service last month.
Assistant librarian Draxa Langley said a lot of people had signed up.
“There’s a lot of interest,” she said. “We do have a lot of avid readers. It’s a nice addition for our readers.”
Langley checked out a historical fiction audio book through the app.
“Librarians never have time to read,” she said, laughing.
