Library makes plans to 'Dream Big'

Hillsboro Public Library’s 2012 Summer Reading Program has a theme of “Dream Big — Read.” Crafts and activities will focus on nocturnal animals, space and stars, and spooky nights.

The program is open to all children from age 3 (as of June 1) through those who finished fifth grade. Classes will be limited to 30 children and held in the West Room of the Hillsboro City Building.

Sessions are June 21 and 28, July 11 with a magician performing, and July 9. Times are 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. for 3- and 4-year-olds; 11 to 11:30 a.m. for pre-K and kindergarten; 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. for first and second grades; and 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. for third and fifth grades.

To enroll a child, visit the library or call (620) 947-3827. The $4 registration fee is due the first day of classes. Librarians Tammy Daniels and Delora Kaufman will lead the sessions with assistant Hannah Bartel.
